Academic Positions 

1.            Department of Pharmacology

Faculty of Pharmacy 

                Reader           -             One post 

a)            Qualification and Experience for Candidates from Academics 

Ph.D. degree with first class Master’s degree in Pharmacology from a recognized university with three years experience of Teaching/ Industry/ Research at the level of lecturer or equivalent.

OR

First class Master’s degree in Pharmacology from a recognized university with 5 years experience in Teaching/ Industry/ Research at the level of lecture. Such candidates will be required to obtain Ph.D degree within a period of seven years from the date of appointment as Reader. 

b)        Qualification and Experience for Candidates from Industry 

Note:                                                    First Class Master’s degree in Pharmacology and with professional work, which is significant and can be recognized as equivalent to Ph.D degree and five years of experience in industry or profession..  

2.         Department of Chemistry

Faculty of Science 

               Reader            -             One post 

Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from out side the university system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F in M.Sc (Organic Chemistry)

Five years of experience of teaching and /or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degree and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula. The Ph. D degree should be in the area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry.

Note: Candidate should be qualified in the area of Organic Synthesis particularly with respect to High Throughput Organic Synthesis and Total Synthesis of Natural Products. Should be able to build a stellar programme in this area by attracting National/International funding and should be able to teach similar courses at M.Sc level. 

3.            Department of Medical Elementology & Toxicology

               Faculty of Science 

(i)           Reader             -             One post                       

Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the university system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F in M.Sc.

Five years of experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by the quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula. The Ph.D degree should be in areas related to Environmental Biotechnology.

Note: Candidates should be qualified in the area of Environmental Biotechnology particularly in relation to the conversion and biodegradation of waste products such as polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, pesticides etc. or bio-remediation or conversion of waste into value aided products etc. Should be able to build  a stellar programme in this area by attracting national/international funding and should be able to teach similar courses at M.Sc. level.  

(ii)            Lecturer (Leave Vacancy)                     -             One post  

·        Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree in Life Science/Bioscience/Biotechnology/Toxicolog . 

·        Candidates, besides fulfilling the above qualifications, should have cleared the eligibility test for lecturers conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC. Candidates who have completed M.Phil degree by December 31,1993 or have submitted Ph.D thesis to the university in the concerned subject on or before December 31,2002 are exempted from appearing in the NET examination. In case such candidates fail to obtain Ph.D degree, they have to pass the NET examination. 

Note: Preference would be given to the candidates having Ph.D. degree in Modern field of Biological Science (Genetics/ Molecular Biology /Biotechnology / Microbiology).  

4.            Department of Management Studies

               Faculty of Management Studies & Information Technology         

(i)            Reader in Health Management  -           One post 

·        Ph.D. degree with first class Master’s degree in any branch of Health Management/PGDHM programmes assessed by AIU and declared equivalent to MBA.

·        Three years experience in Teaching/or working in any NGO, Research institute or health organization.

OR 

·        First class degree at Master’s level in any branch of Health Management /PGDHM programmes assessed by AIU and declared equivalent to MBA.

·        Five years experience in Teaching/or working in any NGO, Research institute or health organization.  Such candidates will be required to obtain Ph.D. degree within a period of 7 years from the date of appointment as Reader. 

              Preferred specializations: 

            Public Health/Epidemiology/Health Economics/Population studies  

(ii)          Lecturer in Health Management             -              One post 

First class Master’s degree in Health Management from any reputed institution.

Desirable

Three years experience in teaching or work experience in any reputed institution. 

Preferred specializations:

Public Health/Epidemiology/Health Economics/Population studies  

5.          Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

             Faculty of Pharmacy.           

             Lecturer (Pharmaceutical Analysis)-            One post           

First class M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Analysis from a recognized institution.

OR

First class M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from a recognized institution. 

Desirable: 

·  Ph.D Degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis/Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

·  Experience in handling Analytical Equipments.           

Non-Academic Positions 

1.       Medical Superintendent                -            One post

          Majeedia Hospital 

(i)      MBBS from a recognized University.

(ii)    Postgraduate degree in a clinical subject/Hospital Administration.

(iii)   Ten years (10) of clinical experience as a Consultant after obtaining postgraduate degree, preferably in a large hospital in the rank of Consultant

OR

 At least seven (07) years of administrative experience in managing a hospital of at least 150 beds. 

Desirable: Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Hospital Administration. 

2.         Manager Archive                -           One post

            Hamdard Archives and Research Centre 

(i)         B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication with at least 55% of the marks from a recognized institution.

(ii)        Three years of experience in handling electronics/electrical equipments of a large organization or institute.

(iii)       Good knowledge of Office Automation Software and administration. 

Desirable : 

·        Professional knowledge of handling Museum

·        Good oral and written communication in English

            ·        Good interpersonal relationship

            ·        Knowledge of Urdu language. 

3.            Executive Engineer              -            One post 

(i)         Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

(ii)        At least eight (08) years of experience in civil construction as an Assistant Engineer or in an equivalent post in recognized/reputed institution/organization.  

4.            Lady Health Visitor         -            One post

                Family Welfare Centre, Majeedia Hospital                       

(i)                 High School

(ii)               Certificate course of Lady Health Visitor from a recognized institution.

(iii)              Registration as ANM with the central or state nursing council. 

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.         Appointments will be made on contract basis for a period of two years, extendable up to a total period of five years. The appointment may also be considered on deputation terms. Appointment against leave vacancy will be made on fixed salary.

2.         The number of vacancies indicated above may vary at the time of Selection Committee.

3.         The university reserves the right not to fill-up any of the vacancies if the circumstances so warrant and to call only short-listed candidates for test/ interview/seminars.

4.         The university reserves the right to consider name of suitable candidates who may not have applied.

5.         Candidates called for interview will have to come to the place of interview at their own expenses and bring with them their original research papers, degrees and certificate etc. for verification.

6.        A person applying for more than one post should send a separate application for each post.

·        Crossed cheque /Demand Draft of Rs.500/- for the posts of Medical Superintendent, Rs.300/- for Reader & Executive Engineer  and Rs.200/- for rest of the posts drawn in favour of Jamia Hamdard payable at New Delhi.

9.                  The candidates already applied for non-academic position at serial number 4 need not

10.                The university reserves the right to hold the written examination to short-list the candidates
         for interview.
