Department of Occupational Therapy

The Department of Occupational Therapy is committed to excellence in education, research, and clinical practice, preparing students for dynamic roles in rehabilitation and healthcare. Since offering its undergraduate and postgraduate programs in 2001 and 2000 respectively, and launching its Ph.D. program in Occupational Therapy in 2023, the department has evolved into a recognized center of academic distinction. It was honored as the "Eminent College of Occupational Therapy in Delhi NCR" in 2024. The department’s academic offerings—BOT, MOT, and Ph.D.—are recognized by the Delhi Council of Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy (DCPTOT) and the All India Occupational Therapists’ Association (AIOTA), and align with international standards set by the World Federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT).

The curriculum integrates evidence-based learning with hands-on clinical training, supported by a state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center and affiliations with leading hospitals, NGOs, and special schools across Delhi NCR. Students gain real-world exposure under expert guidance, enabling them to address diverse therapeutic needs across specialties such as Pediatrics, Neurology, Mental Health, Geriatrics, Community-Based Rehabilitation, and more. This client-centered, holistic approach empowers students to improve functional independence and quality of life for individuals of all ages and conditions.

Graduates from the department enjoy 100% placement, working in renowned institutions like Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital etc. Many alumni have also established private practices or became entrepreneurs, while others have pursued advanced education and careers internationally in countries including the USA, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, and Canada. The department’s emphasis on academic excellence, clinical proficiency, and global outlook ensures that its graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving demands of occupational therapy worldwide.
