BIO

Dr. Rikeshwer Prasad Dewangan has served as an Assistant Professor at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, since January 2019. A specialized pharmaceutical chemist, he earned his Ph.D. in 2017 through a joint venture between Jamia Hamdard and CSIR-IGIB, focusing on novel antimicrobial peptides. He later gained 2.5 years of postdoctoral experience as an SERB-National Postdoctoral Fellow at CSIR-CDRI and a binational Israel-USA Postdoctoral Fellow at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. At Jamia Hamdard, Dr. Dewangan leads a research laboratory exploring the potential of peptides to design novel therapeutics against infectious and lifestyle diseases. Funded by SERB, UGC, and ICMR, his lab specializes in solid/solution-phase peptide synthesis and advanced analytical tools. An accomplished researcher, he has published 42 international research papers (average IF: 5.04) and holds 6 US and Indian patents. Dr. Dewangan has presented his work globally, receiving prestigious travel awards from the American Society for Microbiology, the Gordon Research Conference, and Indian funding agencies, SERB, ICMR and CSIR. Dedicated to mentorship, he has supervised 3 Ph.D. awarded and 4 ongoing, 11 M.Pharm. students, and over 25 B.Pharm. project dissertations.
