Dr. Mohd Hashim Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied and Healthcare Sciences, School of Allied Health Sciences & Research, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and has over eight years of experience in teaching, research, and academic mentoring in Microbiology, Nanobiotechnology, Molecular biology, Renal Microbiology, and Allied Health Sciences.
His research interests encompass antimicrobial resistance (AMR), multidrug-resistant ESKAPE pathogens, antimicrobial nanomaterials, nanoemulsions, biofilm inhibition, nanomedicine, molecular microbiology, renal microbiology, and clinical microbiology, with a particular emphasis on developing innovative nano-enabled therapeutic strategies to combat drug-resistant infections. He has been awarded a prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under a DST-SERB-funded project and a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India, for his research on nano-enabled antimicrobial therapies against multidrug-resistant ESKAPE pathogens. He is also the inventor of an Indian Patent granted for synergistic gas nanoemulsion formulations for antimicrobial applications.
Dr. Khan has authored and co-authored several research articles, review papers, book chapters, and conference publications in reputed international journals. His scholarly contributions have earned 208 Google Scholar citations, with an h-index of 7 and an i10-index of 7. He serves as an independent reviewer for several leading international journals.
A recipient of multiple academic distinctions, Dr. Khan has won several First Prize Awards for research paper and poster presentations at prestigious national and international conferences in recognition of his outstanding contributions to microbiology, nanotechnology, and antimicrobial resistance research.
At Jamia Hamdard, Dr. Khan teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses across Allied Health Sciences, mentors student research, and actively contributes to curriculum development, examination management, academic administration, and quality assurance initiatives. He has successfully supervised several postgraduate dissertations and numerous undergraduate research projects in microbiology, nanotechnology, clinical laboratory sciences, infection control, and antimicrobial resistance, fostering a strong research culture among students.
Dr. Khan remains committed to excellence in teaching, interdisciplinary research, innovation, and evidence-based healthcare to translate scientific discoveries into practical solutions that combat antimicrobial resistance and improve global public health.
