UBA Jamia Hamdard

Jamia Hamdard was selected in the Fourth list of the Participating Institutes (PIs) under UBA-2.0

program for 2019-2020 as published on the UBA website. Since its selection as one of the PI for

UBA, Jamia Hamdard has organised several activities to create awareness among the faculty, students, non-teaching staff and other stakeholders about the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The first meeting for UBA was conducted on 22 July 2019. A UBA Team was formed including the faculty members and students for the smooth implementation of the program. Apart from this Jamia Hamdard also collaborated with multiple organisations and NGO’s for the UBA Program. As of now, Jamia Hamdard has collaborated with Reaching Sky Foundation, a Delhi based NGO as the NGO partner and Business and Employment Bureau (BEB) as the Technical partner for UBA. A Communication Medium was setup for easy communication of all the progress and activities of UBA Status. A Whatsapp Group was created for Instant Volunteer Communication (Active) and a Google Classroom was created for Volunteer Training & Assignments (Active). Activities conducted under UBA include: UBA publicity and call for volunteers, UBA group formation, village visit and need analysis was done at Saidul Azaib, Kalkaji and Mehrauli villages, house hold survey was conducted in Saidul Azaib, Kalkaji and Mehrauli villages, village survey was conducted Saidul Azaib, Kalkaji and Mehrauli villages, experience sharing and registration of new volunteers, Swatchta Pakhwada-2019, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Plastic Free Campus drive, Jamia Hamdard collaborated with NGO and other bodies for UBA for Resource Mobilisation (Through Crowd-Funding) Collaboration with Reaching Sky Foundation as NGO partner and Business and Employment Bureau (BEB) as the Technical partner for UBA.

Then come with Covid’19,  so the department submitted the project under Covid’19 category and got the approval and release of funds of Rs 50,000 for Proj Id: 568 Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education (WSHE) training in Sudhar Camp Region Kalkaji through installation and utilization of Portable Outdoor Wash Station (POWS) based Sanitization drive and JH-WSHE -Health and Sanitation App in Covid 19 Pandemic Scenario on 11^th September 2020. The project team headed by Prof. M. Afshar Alam started an intensive and rigorous routine work to get the project completed under the span of 4 months by visiting the area regularly and we successfully achieved it on 22^nd December 2020, when the team installed Portable Outdoor Wash Station (POWS), developed a health and sanitation app and for the betterment of the villagers performed a sanitation training and drive.
