Women Cell

The Women Development Cell is managed by School of Engineering Sciences (SEST) and Technology & School of Unani Medical Education and Research (SUMER)

Women Cell of Department of CSE, SEST, Jamia Hamdard moulds and enlightens young minds and pave their way to grow into balanced and better human beings. In our cell, we encourage female students to be self-reliant, economically independent and try to eliminate deep rooted beliefs of gender bias and discrimination. Since 2016, we have set up a training ground for our students irrespective of their gender. The cell has engaged in successful implementation of multiple activities and events for achieving its objectives. In women cell, we instil positive self-esteem and confidence in female students, so that they can take the right decision in and for their lives. We aim towards creating awareness among the students about the social, legal and constitutional rights of women in order to prevent the exploitation based on gender.

Women Cell is lead by Dr. Sameena Naaz, Associate Professor, Department of CSE, SEST, who’s tireless efforts have made the team reach pinnacle of success. Other team members comprise of Ms. Shabina Ghafir, Dr. Suraiya Parveen, Ms. Refia Wiquar, Ms. Ayesha Kamal and Ms. Anam Sayeda. The team comprises of 10 student coordinators.

Every person has unique skills that provides him/ her with a unique identity. Keeping this in mind, Women Cell has conducted a variety of events which cater to different needs of an individual. Competitions like Debate, Rangoli, Poster making, Mehendi art etc have left a positive impact on many. Since 2016, the Women Cell has successfully conducted multiple events. The events were open to students from all departments. A few such events are stated below:
